The Backyard Science Team
Every great discovery needs a great team. Get to know the curious crew behind Snickers' Science Adventures™.
Borkie (beagle & yorkie mix)
Snickers is a fluffy little Borkie with a big personality and an even bigger curiosity. She is always asking “why?”, loves a good adventure, and never stops sniffing out a mystery until she finds the answer.
Something is different… and I’m going to find out why!
Fluffy white bunny
Luna never goes anywhere without her clipboard and pencils. She keeps careful track of every observation, because she believes good scientists stay organized — and good notes help you see the whole picture.
Let’s write it down so we can compare tomorrow!
Gray squirrel
Pip is always watching closely through his trusty binoculars. Quick, bright-eyed, and full of energy, he notices the tiny details everyone else misses — and he can’t wait to point them out.
Look up there! Did you see that?
Wise brown owl
Perched on the backyard fence, Professor Hoot is full of knowledge about the night sky. Instead of giving away answers, he asks good questions that help the team think things through for themselves.
What do you notice? And what do you wonder?

The inspiration
Snickers is a real Borkie (a beagle and yorkie mix) with a big personality and an even bigger curiosity! She has been a beloved member of the Simmons family for thirteen years.
A true daddy’s girl, Snickers loves exploring outside, discovering new smells, meeting people and animals, and, of course, finding plenty of time for a good nap.
The real Snickers inspired the curious little explorer at the heart of this series — where asking questions, looking closely, and wondering “why?” can lead to amazing discoveries.
Same curiosity. Brighter tomorrows.

Phase 2 of 8
A thin sliver of light appears on the right side. “Waxing” means the lit part is growing bigger each night.
