Barbie Simmons is an author, artist, and former educator who spent sixteen years helping children discover the joy of learning. She is the wife of an amazing husband and the proud mom of two wonderful sons. She loves art, music, reading, writing, creating, dreaming—and discovering new things about the incredible world around us, especially space!
The inspiration for Snickers’ Science Adventures™ came from a very special member of Barbie’s family: Snickers, their beloved Borkie, who has been part of the family for thirteen years. A true daddy’s girl, Snickers loves exploring outside, discovering new smells, meeting people and animals, and, of course, finding plenty of time for a good nap.
Barbie created Snickers’ Science Adventures™ with a simple goal: to make learning feel like an adventure. Through Snickers’ curiosity, children are encouraged to ask questions, explore, observe, and discover the wonder in the world around them—all while falling in love with a little dog who never knows what she might discover next.
For Barbie, the best kind of learning happens when children are having so much fun, they don’t even realize they’re learning.
